Paperless is the first one I've found that hits that sweet spot between being simple enough you'll actually use it and powerful enough to be useful.' - Marc Zeedar, REALbasic Developer Magazine (4.8 out of 5 rating) 'This is one nice-looking list / task app. As a basic list app, the beautiful Paperless reigns supreme.' Mariner software (Trial version) User rating. Download Latest Version (67.73 MB) Changelog. We don't have any change log information yet for version 2.3 of Paperless. Sometimes publishers take a little while to make this information available, so please check back in a few days to see if it has been updated. Paperless 2 has the ability to keep up and maintain the task of not only reducing your need for paper but managing the paper you use. Simply scan your receipts, bills, statements, warranty cards, business cards – any paper document and the OCR function of Paperless 2 recognizes the data and adds it to the Details Window.

Data from the MSME Ministry showed that as of February 1, the portal had registered 2.03 million micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), an increase of 84.4% from the 1.1 million registrations as of November 7, 2020.

'On July 1, 2020, after enactment of new definition of MSMEs, a new registration portal ‘Udyam Registration' has been launched by Ministry of MSME and so far, 2,029,095 MSMEs are registered on the portal in all India,' said MSME Minister Nitin Gadkari in a written reply to a question posed in the upper house of Parliament.

The minister said MSMEs are not required to upload any documents or proof except the Aadhaar number for registration.

The government has also implemented a single-window system at Champions Control Rooms, which are set up at MSME Development Institutes across India, and district industries centres for facilitating the process.

In August last year, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had asked to clarify on the registration of existing businesses under Entrepreneurs Memorandum (EM) part II and/or Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum (UAM).

RBI had said that existing EMs part II and/or UAMs of MSMEs obtained before June 30, 2020, will continue to remain valid till March 31, 2021.

The ministry said businesses had asked for clarity on whether existing registrations would remain valid after the government's June 26, 2020 notification on the classification of MSMEs as per the new definition and specification of the form and procedure for registration with effect from July 1, 2020.

'The portal will help the government in identifying the possible beneficiaries of various schemes and packages announced for MSMEs such as collateral-free credit, subordinate debt for distressed MSMEs, etc, and pass these benefits directly to them. This will also help in saving time and cost for small businesses,' said Sanjiv Layek, Executive Secretary, World Association for Small and Medium Enterprises (WASME).

According to the MSME Ministry, out of more than 1.0 million registrations as of October 31 last year, 372,000 registered came from the manufacturing segment, while 631,000 belonged to the service sector.

In addition, micro-enterprises formed the highest share of 93.17%, while only 5.62% and 1.21% were small and medium enterprises, respectively.

Udyam Registration is currently integrated with the Central Board of Direct Taxes and GST networks along with the public procurement portal Government e-Marketplace for end-to-end digital registration by MSMEs, according to Financial Express.

Why This Exists¶

Paper is a nightmare. Environmental issues aside, there's no excuse for it inthe 21st century. It takes up space, collects dust, doesn't support any formof a search feature, indexing is tedious, it's heavy and prone to damage &loss.

I wrote this to make 'going paperless' easier. I do not have to worry aboutfinding stuff again. I feed documents right from the post box into the scannerand then shred them. Perhaps you might find it useful too.

Paperless-ng¶

Paperless-ng is a fork of the original paperless project. It changes manythings both on the surface and under the hood. Paperless-ng was createdbecause I feel that these changes are too big to be pushed into the mainrepository right away.

NG stands for both Angular (the framework used for theFrontend) and next-gen. Publishing this project under a different name alsoavoids confusion between paperless and paperless-ng.

If you want to learn about what's different in paperless-ng, check out theseresources in the documentation:

  • Some screenshots of the new UI are available.

  • Read this section if you want tolearn about how paperless automates all tagging using machine learning.

  • Paperless now comes with a proper email consumerthat's fully tested and production ready.

  • Paperless creates searchable PDF/A documents from whatever you you put intothe consumption directory. This means that you can select text inimage-only documents coming from your scanner.

  • See this note about GnuPG encryption inpaperless-ng.

  • Paperless is now integrated with atask processing queue that tells youat a glance when and why something is not working.

  • The changelog contains a detailed list of all changesin paperless-ng.

It would be great if this project could eventually merge back into the mainrepository, but it needs a lot more work before that can happen.
